I am planning to go niagara falls this summer. i need tips ASAP!!?

Hi I live in long island and I am planning to go to Niagara falls. I need to know how much do I have to spend on this trip? I am going to drive with 3 other people. When do i have to book for hotels and where? Any one who went to Niagara falls please give me tips. Thank you very much
